The UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, organized by Universitas Indonesia, is one of the world's most prestigious international university ranking systems focusing on sustainability and environmental management. The ranking evaluates universities based on six key criteria: Setting and Infrastructure, Energy and Climate Change, Waste, Water, Transportation, and Education & Research.
One of the University's most notable achievements was being ranked 1st among Iranian universities and 50th worldwide in the 2018 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings. The University of Zanjan also achieved 47th place globally in 2017 and 48th place globally in 2019, demonstrating its consistent presence among the world's leading green universities.
