The fundamental mission of the Sustainable Development Research Center at the University of Zanjan is to integrate and align research, innovation, and social engagement processes across all dimensions of sustainable development—environmental, social, and technological—so as to play a key role in achieving the country’s national priorities and international commitments, including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and international environmental treaties. Utilizing evidence-based scientific approaches, precise analyses, the development of advanced technologies, and continuous engagement with diverse stakeholders, the center designs, develops, and implements practical and applicable solutions that are adaptable to local and regional contexts, enhancing environmental quality and improving social and economic conditions. Moreover, the center serves as a hub for facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration among the university, government, private sector, and civil society, leveraging the synergy of expertise and resources to manage and address sustainable development challenges comprehensively and effectively.
